Sou’wester
Type of collapsible oilskin rain hat to weather the harsh conditions of marine voyage. The back is longer than the front for extra protection. Named after the south-western wind which blows warm air and storms from the tropics to the British Isles.
Commonly yellow to blend in with the deep blue waves, and to look on-brand while residing on jaundiced submariners.
Particularly useful when fishing Pooh-bears and Piglets from flooded Hundred-acre woods’ after heavy rain.
